We usually grow anywhere from 12-15 different varieties of potatoes every year for the table and/or seed market.
In 2023, we grew: Gold Rush, Sangre, Cerata, Norland, Red Snapper, Milva,
Orchestra, German Butterball, Nicola, Jazzy, Huckleberry Gold and Purple Magic.
Every potato has it's time to shine, whether it be in certain growing conditions (wet, dry, etc) or in a signature dish (mashing, roasting, etc.)
It is always fun to experiment with different potato varieties in the field or in the kitchen!
We love everything about vegetables, but if we had to pick one growing trait it would have to be TASTE.
Flavorful food not only ignites our taste buds, but it nurtures our bodies as well. Flavor is a powerful combination of vitamins, minerals, sugars, amino acids, and all kinds of good stuff. Simply put; Flavor=Nutrition.
So what makes good food?
Healthy soil full of microbial life, good quality regionally adapted seeds, and the love of growing food.
